Jacob is a board certified neurologist whose laboratory records single neurons in animals and in human patients during neurosurgery, revealing how prefrontal circuits support working memory and decision making. Working with neurosurgeons and engineers, he develops microelectrode arrays and brain computer interfaces aimed at disorders of cognition and mental health.
